TreasurySpring secures £7 million Series A investment co-led by MMC Ventures and Anthemis Group
I am more than delighted to announce that we have closed our dream Series A in a round that was co-led by the brilliant teams at MMC Ventures and Anthemis Group, with support from long-term partners ETFS Capital.
When Matthew Longhurst, James Skillen and I decided to build a business to rewire the multi-trillion cash investment and short-term funding markets, there were many people that told us that we were mad; that it was impossible to break the inertia in a sleepy world that hadn’t seen any material innovation for 50 years; that change could only ever be instigated from within a major financial institution…
Maybe we were mad, but we always had absolute faith in our plan to build a standardised, regulated, digital platform to simply deliver the best available cash investments to all firms holding large cash balances, irrespective of their size, location, sector, expertise or market connectivity.
We are very aware that we are still only half way up the mountain; but with fantastic new investors providing this significant capital injection to bolster our phenomenal team, fast-growing client-base and ever expanding product set, we are more confident than ever in our ability to bring about lasting change that not only benefits our clients and counterparties but also helps facilitate greater systemic stability in the money markets as a whole. Huge thanks to the many investors, partners, clients and friends who have helped us get to this exciting milestone.
With record levels of cash in the system, ever decreasing rates offered by traditional products, upcoming regulatory changes in the MMF sector and an uncertain credit environment as the world struggles to wean itself off unparalleled Central Bank stimulus, there has never been a more pressing time for cash investors to seek alternative solutions to minimise risk and maximise returns with a minimum of effort. If that message resonates with you, your colleagues or your connections, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Particular thanks to Henry Adams, Saheed Awan, Justin Meadows, Richard Butler, Martyn James, Ian Lansdell, Oliver Richards, Alexia Arts, Yann Ranchere, Sean Park, Ian Tyler, Frank Dearie, Adam Turtle, Tim Howell, James Matthews and Steven Batchelor for all of your support.
